This post pertains to all areas of this board, but I'll stick it here expecting (hoping) it to recieve all the same hits. Have you ever seen a kart flip... end over end? Typically caused by nose (front bumper) to rear wheel contact, being hit from behind. As our team transitions out of kid karts into the cadets, I have noticed several newer cadets have a bumper covering the rear wheels. I purchased a used kart as a transition kart which has the old style bumper. I looked into the rules and even emailed a tech at WKA to get more info. The rules state the minimum width the bumper has to be and a max kart width, but there is nothing specific in the cadet class. My repsonce from the WKA tech is the bumper should not extend past the rear wheel width. Makes sence to me. I found a local guy (fellow racer) advertising to build rear bumpers to your spec for less than $50. I can't think of an item to add to the kart to make the kart safer for less than $50. Expect WKA to make this a mandatory rule in the near future. Also, the local track is offering a one race discount to those track members whom convert to a full width bumper. I'll post his email address if anyone is interested. Also, Kevin when will the neck restraint device be available, can you post a pic of one for all of us to see? Put me on the list for one. Thanks Bob

Gents,
Bob, I will get some pictures up soon of the new 360 Device, a couple of us got a chance to look at both collars at the KMI expo and I am positive I made the right choice with the 360. I am being told that I should have them by the middle of April, I already have my preorder in and was one of the first to do so. One could anticipate, once these things are out it will be tough to keep up with the demand.
Here I go ranting about Shockwave again but take a look at the rear bumper on the cadet kart it is the perfect angle and even has additional down bars that will actually assist you in tuning the chassis as well. We will be at the AutoRama this weekend at the Cleveland IX center in booth 1250, if you get a chance come by and check it out.
Don, you can fly up to!! lol no problem on the links, as I am sure most people have hopefully heard of ekartingnews and youtube by now.. Some of those crashes are pretty wild, but most of the time the injuries are minor thank goodness.
Bob, you need to tell Jake to slow down or your signature is going to become a paragraph......J/K it appears he also has a talent for picking NASCAR race winners....
Take care and be safe. _________________ Kevin Harter

I had my 8 yr. old do a side ways flip, land on the nose and then do an end for end roll. The full weight of the kart came down on him TWICE!! He got up and walked off track!! HE WAS WEARING A 360 and an Armadillo chest protector.
I have encountered a problem with this combination. The Aramadillo causes the 360 to tip back elevating the chin bar of the helmet. This greatly reduces his field of vision. Anyone else seen this? Anyone already have a solution?

My son wears this same combo and had the same problem. I removed the sholder pads from the armidillo and it solved the issue.
